2016 is going to be an exciting year.
It’s the end of January and there’s already a lot going on. Naturally a big concern will be to look after my mental health. But before I tell you about how I plan to do that, I want to share news about two exciting new projects.
That got your attention. No, it’s not but I am excited about a new online project that’s in the planning phase.
I’m calling it: “Fabulous at 50 – The Professional Woman’s Guide to Being Anxiety Free”. This web-based programme will provide tools to help women avoid the negative experiences of burnout and anxiety, that can get in the way of enjoying what should be an exciting time of life.
As a successful entrepreneur, who has lived through burnout, depression and anxiety, I have decided I am qualified to give my advice. (Some of you might say that I have never flinched from giving advice. Lately however, friends have told me that some of my advice is really quite good. Bless them.)
And then there’s the Heart Strategy workshops
My second project, with old friend Keong Wong, is a series of one-day workshops. It’s about helping people discover the essence of their own happiness using the Heart Strategy tool. Then we work through some practical exercises to help achieve the happiness outcome that your mind has envisioned.
If you are interested in attending, please don’t worry, this is not about doing more. From my experience, finding greater happiness is about letting go, doing less.
So how will I keep myself well?
In 2015, instead of setting goals (which I often don’t achieve) I’ve established some guiding principles to shape my life. So here it is: My mission is: to live with grace by being kinder to myself, helping others and remaining creative.
It is important that all my actions fall within these margins – and both these new projects certainly do that.
But I will need your help
I have only ever achieved success through the support of my family, friends and networks. I know these projects will benefit those who wish to live happier and healthier lives so please contact me if you’d like to know more.
Lastly, I have joined the Nownownow movement started by, former US but now Wellington-based entrepreneur and TED speaker, Derek Sivers. (www.sivers.org and twitter @nownownow)

Until next time, take care. Leigh
